Surmet Gold™
Surmet Gold™ Microcoatings is a proprietary multilayer coating
whose outermost coating is predominantly Titanium Nitride. An unusual
combination of low temperature processing, extremely good adhesion and
excellent antiwear and antigalling properties makes Surmet-Gold an excellent
wear resistant coating.
This novel coating based on TiN provides a superior metallurgical bond
with the substrate at a relatively cold 250°C. The enhanced finish
and chemistry of this coating results in a better finish on the machined
surface, thereby improving machine efficiency.
